Church is to be built on relationships. Yet, people are people and one of the many ramifications of the flesh is that we will disagree occasionally. Conflict at some level will happen from time to time, and at Hope we want to be prepared - before, during and after conflict.
God’s word give us the resources to prevent our words from being hurtful, and to heal if they become hurtful in the midst of misunderstandings or disagreements.
He lays out plans for dealing with this reality, and at Hope we look to the Bible to strengthen our ability to survive conflict in relationships. Some key actions…
- bearing with others (Col. 3:13)
- lovingly confronting (Mt. 18:15-22; Luke 17:3,4)
- forgiving (Eph. 4:32)
- reconciling (2 Cor. 5:18,19)
- restoring (2 C0r. 2:7; Gal. 6:1)
