Hope Church Core Beliefs

We hold these core beliefs as essential to the Christian faith. For a more detailed outline of these beliefs, please see our “Statement of Faith”.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that these three are co-eternal and of equal dignity and power.

We believe that man was created by and for God; when man disobeyed God, Adam brought sin into this world; every human born since is a sinner by nature and practice; God sent His Son into this world to atone for sin through His sacrificial death; all who confess and believe in Jesus Christ are declared righteous and are, therefore, in a right relationship with God both here and hereafter.

We believe that the Christian faith is best lived out in the company of fellow believers, called the Church. At a minimum, in this gathering we worship, pray, and encourage one another to love and good deeds. Yet there is so much more for the people of God to do, as the opportunity to grow together as a faith community is as great as the Lord is merciful.

We believe that the Christian faith is not just for Sunday, but requires that we, as families and individuals, live a daily life of love and obedience to Christ Jesus in everything we do.

We believe in the visible return of Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom; the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived, resulting in the everlasting blessedness of those in right relationship with God and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God's forgiveness in His Son.
